Vacancy Detail

Sewing Machine Operator

This is a unique position within a very reputable business in the world of Large Format Print and Graphics. Your sewing work will be seen by millions of people the world over.  The side of lorries, window displays, train stations, retail graphics. Everywhere.

You'll be working within the finishing department. It's been briefed, it's been designed, it's been printed and now it's with you to get it finished before shipped off into stores, exhibitions and a variety of other places. Your role is vitally important to the whole process.

You'll be experienced in sewing and operating sewing machines. This particular stitch is a Keder Stich. If you didn't know, that's basically stitching in a silicone edge to the graphics. You don't need to know this or have experience of it but sewing experience is essential.

At times, you'll be operating the process before this too. That's a CNC cutter called the Zund. It's an impressive bit of kit.  Experience isn't essential on this, and training will be given but at times, you'll be jumping onto that area too. It's the stage before you on your sewing machine. It's been briefed, it's been designed, it's been printed and sometimes you'll be operating the cutter and then sewing.

As you'd expect and what you already know from being experienced in stitching and sewing, your attention to detail and quality control has to be second to none. One mistake, and the whole process will need to be completed all over again.

This is a Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30 full time and employed opportunity.  It's a fast paced manufacturing environment you will need to be on site. So make sure you can commute to Harlow before applying.
